Nobody could surpass Jan Roest’s superb achievement in the Tree felling. As a result of good training combined with having top equipment, the Dutchman won the gold medal. Using a Husqvarna 576 XP, Roest managed to get high 659 points (of 660 possible ones) – in his first World Logging Championships.
“It’s unbelievable. This is my passion. I’ve been ‘training’ for this in 25 years”, Jan Roest laughed.
He added: Now I’ll train for another 25 years and the come back and do it even better”, he smiled.
Husqvarna’s Massimiliano Biemmi from Italy also got 659 points in the discipline, but wasn’t as quick as Jan Roest. Biemmi took the bronze medal.
Husqvarna dominated the Tree felling.
As a matter of fact, four of the five best contestants in the discipline used Husqvarna chainsaws (the models 575 XP™ and 575 XP™) that have Husqvarna latest and unique engine technology, X-Torq.
