Thrilling finish of the championships.

Husqvarna have a perfect starting-point for the final day of the championships. Several of their contestants have performed excellent so far and have high total points.

Massimiliano Biemmi from Italy has 1192 points (which means that he’s now in second place), Alexander Surovtsev from Russia, 1191 points (fourth place) and Robert Cuk from Slovenia with 1181 points (fifth place).

Massimiliano Biemmi, Italy, is a gold candidate in both the Tree felling and the total individual competition.

Ilya Shetvsov from Russia has only 1165 points, which is not that high considering the tough competition. But when Shetvsov won the world championships in Turin 2004, he had almost the same starting-point when the last day of the competition started…

Anders Kragner, in charge of Husqvarna’s involvement in the World Logging Championships, is looking forward to the Limbing, which is the discipline that will finish the World Logging Championships 2008: “Limbing is a fast and fun discipline. Speed is not everything. It’s much about controlling your nerves and not doing to many mistakes.”

The competition on Sunday starts with the conclusion of the Tree felling. Husqvarna’s Jan Roest from the Netherlands is still in the lead and Massimiliano Biemmi from Italy has a chance to take the bronze medal. One interesting contestant that will compete in this discipline tomorrow morning is Jukka Perämäki from Finland, who got very high points in all his previous disciplines. In addition to this, it’s worth mention that Tree felling is one of Jukka’s favourite disciplines…

One thing's for sure, it's going to be one more exciting day!
